One of Austin's landmark clubs, the Hole In the Wall has helped launch the careers of several successful musicians. Singer/songwriter Nancy Griffith, for one, began her rise to stardom here in the mid-70s. The first thing you see when you walk in is a well-worn bar and what might strike you as too many tables for such a small room. If you're at The Hole on a weekend, you'll find every chair filled, every table crowded, and every corner packed. If the pool tables, video games, and pinball machines seem to be missing, don't despair--there is a large game room with a jukebox in the back.
